Our Commitment: ShortLink does not sell your data, does not serve advertising trackers, and does not build consumer profiles. We collect only what is strictly required to route links and provide essential analytics.
1. Information Collected from Link Creators
When you register an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. If you shorten URLs as an anonymous guest, no personally identifiable information (PII) is recorded.
2. Information Collected from Link Visitors
When a visitor clicks a ShortLink URL, our edge servers process the incoming HTTP request in real time to route the user. We aggregate and store only:
- Timestamp of the click event
- Referring website or application header
- Browser family (e.g. Chrome, Safari)
- Device type (Desktop, Mobile, Tablet)
- Approximate geographic country & city
We do NOT store visitor IP addresses. IP addresses are used solely at the edge for rate-limiting and geo-lookup, then immediately discarded.
3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We do not use third-party advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or behavioral trackers. Session cookies or local storage keys are used strictly for user authentication and user-selected language preferences.
4. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or visitor analytics to third-party data brokers, marketers, or advertising networks.
